Week I - II
Generative research
Starting with an open-ended brief of designing for passage of time, conducted exploratory diary studies with 8 participants over a week to identify recurrent problems around this theme. This was during the Covid lockdowns in Mumbai.
Identified recurrent needs and storyboarded UX concepts – arrived at an app to crowdsource news stories.
Week III - VI
Formative research
Paper prototypes of UX concept
Conducted 2 exploratory contextual inquiries to identify relevant associations, motivations and interest.
Quantitative survey with 56 participants to understand different user types and value propositions over existing products
Conducted a concierge MVP experiment with with 5 participants over 2 weeks to test the core concept and user types qualitatively
Simulated the concept of crowdsourcing news stories by sending an editable google doc to 5 participants one after the other, asking them to edit and improve the same story. The story cycled through them 6 times before they all felt that it couldn't be edited anymore. They were made to fill a google form each time they received the doc to measure how they felt the story had changed since they last read it.
